The Project Steering Committee (PSC) was established in January 2005 and is now well established and functioning effectively. It is comprised of the principal role-players involved in the implementation of the work programme of the BurrenLIFE Project. It is designed to ensure that a platform exits at a local level such that all partners can work in a spirit of co-operation in supporting the delivery of the Project Actions. The Project Team acts as secretariat to the PSC and the Project Manager acts as Chairperson. The PSC met on seven occasions in 2005. The frequency of PSC meetings in the start-up phase has been instrumental in ensuring the smooth role-out of work and the effective functioning of the Project Team.
The PSC is comprised of the Project Team and two nominated parties from each of the following - National Parks and Wildlife Service, Teagasc and the Burren Irish Farmers Association. The PSC meets on a regular basis (monthly / bi-monthly) as the need arises.
