

A wider Project Advisory Group (PAG) has also been established. This acts as the wider regional reference point for the Project Team involved in the implementation of the work programme. It is comprised of the parties who sit on the PSC and other Project supporters including Clare and Galway County Council, the Department of Agriculture and Food, the Heritage Council, RRD Leader (Clare Leader Group), National Unversity of Ireland - Galway. The PAG is designed to ensure that a regional / national platform exists to ensure that all parties involved in the management of the Burren have an opportunity to work in a spirit of co-operation in supporting the delivery of the BurrenLIFE Project Actions. The PAG has held two meetings in July and October 2005 and will meet twice yearly.
The PAG will act as a regional / national platform to ensure the smooth and effective functioning of the BurrenLIFE Project and the delivery of the commitments as laid out in the Contract with the EU Commission (Project Ref: LIFE04NAT/IE/000125 / Project Code 800057 D/C/91 LIFE NATURE 2004). More importnatly it will work to ensure greater levels of co-oprtation between the key stakeholders and roleplayers involved in the land use and management of the Burren.
