Key Terms

'LIFE Farms'
Term used to describe the selected farm sites on which the main project actions will be implemented and monitored over the next number of years.
Project Actions
The listed actions (work tasks) as set out and agreed with the EC which collectively form the work programme to be implemented in the period 1st September 2004 to 31st August 2009.
Project Beneficiary
The lead partner and Project Sponsor with the EC (NPWS).
Project Partner
The other partners in the Project (Teagasc and Burren IFA).
Project Supporters
Term used to describe third party supporters of the Project that have no direct day to day involvement in the implementation of the Project Actions.
Partners Agreement
An agreement signed between the Beneficiary and the two Project Partners to ensure the smooth and effective functioning of the Project and the delivery of the commitments as laid out in the Contract with the European Commission in a timely and cost effective manner.
Project Team
The personnel who have direct responsibility for the implementation of the Project (Dr Brendan Dunford, Dr Sharon Parr and Ruairí Ó Conchúir). Dr James Moran (Teagasc) is also considered part of the Project Team given his role within the Project. However, for reporting purposes the Project Team is comprised of the three named individuals employed directly by the Project Beneficiary.
